The British Airways Health Services (BAHS) Team provides an immunisation service along with specialist confidential support and advice for aircrew. Pilots and crew may seek advice about health issues, or they can arrange an appointment with an Occupational Health Physician and AME. The Team was looking to upgrade their current chairs for their health centre beside London Heathrow Airport. Kendall, the Occupational Health Practice Nurse, saw Ocura’s Deneo Chairs in action at the Phlebotomy Department at Hemel Hempstead Hospital, and liked the compact, modern design.
The new chairs needed to be robust, reliable, and compact, but with a futuristic feel to fit the health centre’s design. We provided a Deneo for the staff to trial to ensure the chair met all their needs. Anita, BA Health Centre Practice Manager told us “everybody had a go [using the chairs] and we had good feedback”. The modern design is better for our customers. It looks professional and fits the very high standard offered here”.

British Airways Health Services proceeded with a purchase order for the Deneo Chairs, as well as Orkney Operator Stools for the clinicians. They also purchased an Ocura Care service package as a way of protecting their investment. Our service contracts are a cost-effective way to reduce downtime and enhance the lifetime of your product. They provide a basic Planned Preventative Maintenance strategy, essential for identifying any potential problems whilst helping to keep staff and patients safe when using the furniture.
Once the chairs were manufactured, we arranged delivery, and Robin, Ocura Account Manager provided a training session for staff. Feedback received was “Robin you’re a hit, the nurses felt you were very clear and concise, very good and informative” and “the chair is very straightforward and simple to use”.
