Royal Stoke University Hospital
The Cancer Centre at Royal Stoke University Hospital approached Ocura for chemotherapy chairs as their existing ones had been condemned. They needed to be comfortable since patients are seated for long periods of time, and they also needed to have the ability to recline.
The Approach
Following initial discussions, the client selected Ocura’s Boston reclining chair as their chair of choice. They saw from a recent case study Ocura had worked with a nearby Cancer Unit to come up with a solution, and this gave them the confidence to make the purchase. Funding for the chairs was provided by the UHNM charity, a fantastic organisation that exists to enable patients and their loved ones to thank the staff and the hospital for the care given to them.
The Outcome
The ward staff are delighted with the chairs and have received great feedback from the patients. The staff say the chairs are easy to use and clean. Ocura continues to work in partnership with the trust to improve healthcare environments and make a difference in the lives of patients and staff.
