The new Stonehaven renal unit is designed to provide vital facilities to the community and surrounding areas.
Services at this private facility are continually developing to represent the most innovative practices and the Ocura team knew we needed to supply a healthcare furniture solution that would allow the hard-working staff to continue to provide the highest standards of care and comfort for the patients that choose this distinguished healthcare centre.
The existing seating was fabric covered and had been condemned for failing to comply with infection control regulations. Although the client was aware that medical-grade and wipeable vinyl was regulatory, they had a very specific vision for the area: the upholstery appearance must mimic fabric in some areas. The colours also had to be modern, contrasting and be able to stand the test of time.
The garden room within the facility is a wonderful place for patients and was to have a green colour palette to blend in with the environment. As somewhere with an abundance of plants and large windows, we wanted to provide seating that could truly help patients relax and be comfortable during their stay.
Our Baltimore settees were chosen for all areas following an on-site trial, complemented by our matching compact tub chairs from the same product family. Manila medical-grade vinyl, which combines the high performance of vinyl with the soft appearance of textile, was utilised for the waiting area and corridor with modern, timeless colourways of ‘Seaway’ blue and ‘Ore’ grey.
The garden room uses our Valencia medical-grade vinyl in ‘Olive’ green for the settees and a contrasting Manila fabric-look vinyl in our ‘Leafy’ green colour for the tub chairs. Additionally, our Tulsa coffee tables were supplied in walnut and a walnut finish self-service cupboard for hot drinks and snacks completed the package.
