Knowledge HubOcura supplied a select range of furniture items and equipment to the Nightingale Hospitals during their set-up. We provided our medical trolleys and IV poles to the sites.
As an urgent response to the COVID-19 crisis in the United Kingdom, the NHS established temporary COVID-19 critical care hospitals to provide cover for the projected increase in patients requiring treatment for the coronavirus.
Seven of these hospitals were known as a collective, created as part of Project Nightingale. They were chosen in seven sites across England and the first opened on the 3rd of April.
The challenge with these hospitals was that the buildings they would occupy were not designated medical sites. Locations such as the ExCel Centre, the University of West England, the National Exhibition Centre and Manchester Central Convention Complex all needed to be transformed into field hospitals.
The Ocura team knew we had a part to play and when we were asked to supply furniture, we were proud to assist.
Transforming these sites into hospitals with hundreds of patient stations and facilities for the hardworking staff was never going to be simple, but it was a challenge so many companies and individuals were willing to meet head-on.
Ocura supplied a select range of furniture items and equipment to the Nightingale Hospitals during their set-up. We provided our medical trolleys and IV poles to the sites. All Ocura products are specially designed to meet the utmost hygiene standards while still being ergonomic and easy to use, assisting those working at the field hospitals.
At a time when infection control and simple use is paramount to stop the virus spreading while relieving pressure from the staff, Ocura was confident our furniture would improve patient and staff welfare.
The NHS is working harder than ever to keep pushing our nation forward during one of the most worrisome and troubling times in living memory.
The team at Ocura are honoured to have been part of the Nightingale project and will continue to support medical staff and all healthcare facilities.
Stay at home. Protect the NHS. Save lives.
