Ocura celebrates the NHS 75^th Birthday

On the 5^th of July 2023, our entire staff team met online, we wore blue and shared our personal NHS experiences we are thankful for, in awe of, and two colleagues shared their personal stories; on how the NHS saved their lives. 

We wanted to say happy birthday with more than words. During the big birthday week, we planned a series of events in celebration:

We went into our local hospitals and helped for the day.

Our north team volunteered with RRT (Rapid Relief Team United Kingdom) to provide a hot meal for NHS staff at the Peterhead Community Hospital, a total of 140 meals were served. 

Connor, Kenneth, and Martyn played 75 holes of golf at Craibstone Golf Centre to raise £750. Tee-off was at 5.15 am and the final putt was at 8.06 pm, a combined total of 93.6 miles was walked and 165,000 thousand steps were taken. 

We raised a total of £985, exceeding our original target! 

We split the funds between Hilary Coleman, who has been fundraising for new recliners for The Jigsaw Unit at Royal Bournemouth Hospital, Dorset HealthCare University NHS Foundation Trust.

The neonatal unit at Basingstoke Hospital, Hampshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust.

And King George & Queen’s Hospitals Charity.

The fundraising would not have been possible without the input of our incredible staff team and everyone who got involved, volunteered, and donated. 

Our goal was to say happy 75^th birthday to the NHS with more than words, it’s safe to say we completed our mission.
