King’s College Hospital Project Details
- Client King's College Hospital
- Location London
In the midst of a pandemic, King’s turned to Ocura for advice – in search of waiting room furniture that complied with infection control, met patients varying needs, and was going to stand the test of time while also looking amazing.
Our approach is to always make a positive outcome for staff, visitors and patients within the hospital. One of our team spent a long time receiving excellent treatment from King’s in the past, this insight helps us create solutions that truly transform the patient experience, you can read more about Chris’s story here.
Equala was the product we selected to meet the brief, why? The Equala range embodies the values of King’s and the wider Healthcare market. A bariatric seat within a beam unit delivers the same aesthetic, meaning true equality. A kick-back leg prevents the chair back from touching the wall, caring for the building and the anti-bacterial upholstery. The easy access arms and strong, sturdy anti-bacterial metal frames will deliver years of high performance even within a busy NHS hospital.
Space-efficient, ergonomic, easy to clean seating that delivers equality for all, the perfect solution for waiting zones in hospitals. That’s why we designed it.
King’s College Hospital assistant facilities manager provided us with the following feedback:
“Our new Ocura chairs and tables have transformed our patient waiting area. Delivery and installation were both quick and easy. The various combinations of seating that were available (bariatric and standard seating in the same unit for example) has allowed us to cater to all of our various patient groups and create social distancing without the need for horrible signs on the chairs. The seats look good and are comfortable. They are easy to clean, quickly demonstrated when a patient dropped their coffee on one the first day they were out. It was cleaned up quickly and there was no damage or marks on the chair. We are very happy with our purchase.”
Simply put, Equala will transform waiting areas.
